Reflexology
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that the human nervous system has reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. It is a unique method of using thumbs, knuckles and fingers on these reflex areas to help relieve stress and tension, improve blood supply and energy flow, promote the unblocking of nerve impulses and to hellp nature achieve balance within the body. Since 80% of today's diseases are attributable to stress, nervous tension, poor blood circulation and nerve supply, it is no wonder that reflexology has become so popular in the growing world of complementary and alternative health care. While the origins of reflexology are ancient, the techniques practiced today represent a more recent development of the late 19th and early 20th century by modern medical doctors. The late Eunice Ingham, a physical therapist of the 1930s advanced these therapeutic techniques worldwide, At reverie, her "Original Ingham Method" is used and our reflexologists are certified by the International Institute of Reflexology that she founded.

It has also benefited many who experience chronic pain and tension in their hands from repetitive movements and fine motor movements of the hands. These are often dental hygienists, typists and keyboardists, factory workers, and a host of other occupations. You will be taught "take home" hand exercises and reflex manipulations for the hands.
Our Certified Reflexology Therapists are not doctors and are therefore by law not to diagnose, prescribe, or treat for a specific medical condition. However, note what medical centers and medical professionals around the country are saying about the health benefits of the healing art of reflexology
